In anticipation of this year's heavily anticipated Super Bowl XLVII, San Diego-based fast food chain Jack in the Box announced today the release of a limited-edition burger, coined the "Hot Mess Burger", in tribute to the secret 80's rock star past of its founder, Jack Box. As a means of promotion, regional West Coast viewers will be able to view a brief 30-second advertisement featuring the launch of the new menu option during the Super Bowl in an effort to capitalize on the large viewership. Anheuser-Busch hosted a party January 29 for Beck’s Sapphire, a new high-end beer, to celebrate the Beck’s Sapphire Super Bowl ad. The event included a performance from Chet Faker, featured in the Super Bowl, at the pop-up “jewelry shop” which opened New Years Eve on 201 Mulberry Street. . It is competing with every other company U.S. and abroad who are attempting to leverage the Superbowl to attract eyes and make impressions. Dunkin' Donuts Plans to Expand into Southern California


            As a native Southern California resident, I did not discover Dunkin’ Donuts until a college trip to Boston, Mass. This is where I learned that the other coast was fueled by Dunkin’ Donuts, and less by Starbucks. I was amazed that this wide-scale extremely popular coffee/doughnut company had never crossed my radar before. I had never seen a store in Southern California, and deemed Dunkin’ Donuts a “Northeasterner thing.” Until 2013, which could now be called, "The Year of the Donut."
