"NASA Researchers/Airmen to Honor Black History Month"


            This press release was sent out by NASA and announces their Black History Month celebration called “Red Tails to Red Planet.” The event will be held on February 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NASA Langley Research Center’s official visitors’ facility called the Virginia Air & Space Center. The event will allow visitors to learn about the Mars Science Laboratory mission while being able to hear from NASA researchers and members of the Tidewater Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen who will talk about the “Red Tails” and their role in World War II. Additionally, students from Hampton University, a historically black college, will be there to share about their university’s science, technology and history programs.
