Hilton Worldwide and Bayview Hospitality Group converts downtown Toronto's Metropolitan Hotel into a DoubleTree Hotel to attract urbanites and socialites who visit Toronto. DoubleTree attempts to expand further in North America by opening the franchise hotel chain in more Canadian cities. Instead of positioning themselves as strictly a Hilton brand, DoubleTree attempts to attract the younger, economical and cosmopolitan crowd.
